Engineering support for Florida projects
Coordinated structural and building-system design.
Chrome Stone Structural provides structural and MEP engineering for Florida residential, commercial, mixed-use and renovation projects. We work with architects, contractors, developers and property owners to define the engineering support needed for the proposed work. The quotation identifies the disciplines, documents and stages included, rather than treating every project as the same package.
Start with the building and the proposed work
For a new building, addition, tenant improvement or renovation, share the project location, building use and a description of the changes. Architectural layouts and available existing-condition drawings help establish what information is already available and what still needs clarification. Existing conditions and the proposed scope can affect the design approach.
Structural engineering
Depending on the project, structural work may include foundation and framing design, beam and column design, structural analysis and calculations. Structural requirements should be coordinated with the architectural layout and the mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems. The agreed scope identifies the relevant tasks and documentation for your project.
Mechanical, electrical and plumbing design
Mechanical work may include HVAC design, equipment sizing, ventilation and duct routing. Electrical work may include load calculations, panel schedules, one-line diagrams and coordination of equipment requirements. Plumbing design may address water distribution, sanitary waste and vent systems, fixture connections and related building-layout requirements. Requested disciplines and deliverables should be confirmed in the quotation.
Coordinate the interfaces between disciplines
Duct routes need space within the building layout. Plumbing penetrations need coordination with framing and foundations. Electrical and mechanical equipment may have support and clearance requirements. Reviewing these interfaces as part of the engineering scope helps the project team identify information and coordination decisions that need attention.
Florida code and local review context
Discuss the applicable Florida Building Code requirements and submission expectations with the appropriate reviewing authority for your project. Location, building use and the type of work can affect the requirements that apply. The Florida Building Commission website is an official reference; project-specific requirements should be confirmed rather than assumed from a general service description.
Request a project-specific quote
Send the Florida project address or city, building type, proposed work, requested engineering disciplines and the drawings currently available. We review the information, clarify the proposed scope and missing inputs, and agree the fees and schedule before work begins. Visits, construction-stage support, revisions and additional work should be confirmed in the agreed scope.
